Cole and Grandpa Bill

In the De Haan gene pool there is a natural selection for one to love fishing. I remember getting night crawlers before a fishing trip picking them out with a flashlight after watering. I loved even more having my dad wake me up early in the morning when it was still dark out and taking off for a lake. I enjoyed everything about it. I'm certain that somewhere along the way that gene died off...but its been found in Cole. He loves that fact that he has two grandpa's that love to take him out. I found a few photo's of cole going ice fishing last year...I even found a picture of Grandpa Bill with Cole so you can see their faces. Cole is looking forward to going out on the boat with Grandpa DeHaan next! Here you go!

Pioneer Day

The 24th was a riot! We shared it with the Jameson's and Markey's. Dinner went flawlessly with rib eye Steaks and smoked ribs. As usual we had enough food to feed the entire neighborhood. Unfortuantely no pictures of the feast, but here are a few of the night time firework celebration (Click on the Pictures and it should give a larger view).

Old Pictures

I spent a few hours going through old pictures I need to scan to maintain digital copies and was upset to find one of my favorite pictures from our wedding was quite faded. Fortunately I have a friend who saved this one (Thanks Trent!)

Forrest's Hair Day.....

Forrest has a head of hair most would die for. Thick, nice and I'm fine with the surf dude look....however, today was different. He decieded that he didn't like being blonde.






...This is now Forrest!!! I think it was a bit dark for his liking! It will be interesting to see if we can remedy the situation!

I'm getting OLD!

Zoe just moved from Primary to Young Womens...Emily did a beautiful highlight and I put together this slideshow. I can't believe how the years are rolling! Here's the slideshow...

A Year Later.......

Can you believe it... a year later and no closer to starting this dang blog than I was last year. I did have good intentions. Emily and I went with some friends this year to France. After a very enjoyable week we parted ways and went down to Italy. I can't express what a fun time we had. Here are a few pics and a video I put together for some friends...actually, better put, family!

Getting Started

Finally following the leads of so many friends to get a blog up and going. I attempted our family website and have been poor at posting. Pehaps I'll stick to a blog better...who knows.

Today we returned from a family vacation to Park City. I had fun with our family and glad to report no children lost to the mountains. It was our last family venture prior to the kids starting school. Tess loved the alpine slide and coster while Cole was wondering how long we were going to make him wait to go fishing! It was a good time and ended on a good note...eating.
